What do you do when the sky isn’t blue,
and the things we believe in don’t seem to be true?
What do you say to soldiers who now are at war?
Who find out they’re fighting for those rich, and corrupt to the core?
Why their rations cost more than some earn in a year
Yet this food that they’ve eaten taste like feed for old steer?
What should we say when a Xeroxed notice arrives,
To tell of a child who’s no longer alive?
What do you do when you’re saying goodbye
And your child is cursed by those too religious with their hatred and lies?
What’s to be done when those wrong have more rights,
and some rich starve the innocent right here in plain sight?
Who do we turn to when the cops hold the guns
and the cities for sale by the politicians who’ve won?
Do we believe the unions are straight with no mafia connection
or Government red tape?
When closeted official vote against what is right
and schools have four days because the budget is tight?
Yet no problem for war and what money is spent until our soldiers come home
then nothing is left.
Is one voice enough, will others soon follow or will they be stumped out
by those heart’s that are hollow?
Will rails to nowhere be the future passed on
so that some private entity can build condo’s and be gone?
What do you do when the sky isn’t blue,
and the things we believe in don’t seem to be true?
What do we do when the system is broken
and news stations acts as if the truth is what spoken?
I guess the aloha which represent hello and goodbye
will simply stand for an empty heartless goodbye.
